my little corner of the internet to DISH on the latest happenings of my favorite TV shows! This blog is opinion based only, so read if you dare.
As you begin reading my commentary on tv shows in this blog, you will realize that one of my favorite games that I play while watching TV shows is "place that actor". It's like a personal challenge to me to see someone in a TV show or a movie and be like "that person looks familiar, where do I know them from". It's just a game or challenge to myself and man, I sure had fun with tonight's Good Wife - Infamy episode.
Now for my commentary -
Tonight the "GodMother of TV" (that's me, by the way!) sat down to watch her recorded episode from last night's "The Good Wife". Honestly, not enough good things can be said about this show. It has legal drama, suspense and it keeps you wanting more. I can only hope that it's ratings stay up and that CBS will renew it for a second season.
I really love Alisha Florrick (Julianna Marqulies). She is strong and shows true conviction, real Legal savvy and is all around likeable. I have gotten over the fact that Alisha is no longer angry at her husband Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) for cheating on her, lying to her and publicly humiliating her and her family. But, what I don't' get is why she isn't trying harder to find out why Peter was framed, trying harder to get him out of prison, find out what the current State's Attorney Glen Child's did to frame Peter and why the show doesn't focus a little more on that scenario (Peter is really not a very big star of the show - and I initially wanted to watch this show to see Mr. Big!!) ? At first, I thought that Peter (aka: Mr. Big) was too busy filming the Sex and the City 2 movie and that was why he wasn't in many episodes, but as time goes on, I see this show is really about Alisha and her career and her family is just a side story. Although, I would like it even more if Mr. Big would show up more often!!
Random thought, but worth discussing -can we please talk about the fact that the actor that plays "Will Gardner" (Josh Charles) starred in a movie that I remember from my teenage years called "Don't Tell Mom, The Babysitter's Dead"? His name was "Brian" in that movie and every time I see him on The Good Wife, I picture his Babysitter character (he was the one who worked at a fastfood joint and had to wear a cheesy outfit, equipped with a hat). It cracks me up to see little Brian all grown up!
Tonight's "Infamy" episode had 2 surprising characters show up! It took me over half an hour to realize that Glen Child's wife was SUSAN from FRIENDS (Jessica Hect)! Man, she has aged since the Friends days, I about fell out of my Lazy Boy when I realized it was her! She should be in more shows, I like her. It's odd to see her play a straight woman, but I digress.
Then, the Lawyer against Will Gardner (yes, the beautiful one with the entire back tattoo) Emily Tartan (Kat Foster)- she played in the failed ABC sitcom "Til' Death" - on that show, she was the cute, yet perky neighbor, Steph, that was married to the Paul Finch (guy from the famous American Pie movies). She was is really beautiful in the Good Wife and again, I almost didn't recognize her!
This episode lacked any real insight into what Child's wife (soon to be ex wife) knows about this wrong doings towards Peter and what bothered me is that Alisha did not really seem to care (Why didn't she push her more?).
Again, LOVE this show, but I feel that Alisha is too focused on her Legal career right now to bother trying to save her family or her husband. However, let it be said for the record that, in the God Mother's house, I would cut Peter loose, kick him to the curb and move on, but that wouldn't make for good TV.. would it?
